You will be tasked with planning, organizing, directing, and implementing various initiatives in the county’s Public Works Department, which oversees Roads, Solid Waste, and Stormwater Divisions. As the steward of county infrastructure, you will lead projects involving the establishment, design, construction, alteration, and improvement of local roads and bridges, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety requirements. Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, as well as registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Washington—or the ability to obtain registration within six months of hire. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible managerial experience, or a combination of relevant experience and training, is essential. Professional engineering expertise in the design, construction, or maintenance of roadways is a must.
In recognition of your expertise, Asotin County offers a highly competitive salary range of $132,683.24 to $154,205.87, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus distributed in stages. Additional relocation support may also be available. The comprehensive benefits package includes a choice of three medical plans, dental, vision, pension, deferred compensation, 11 paid holidays plus a floating holiday, vacation, and sick leave.
