As part of our growing team, maintenance workers ensure that city roads, streets, storm sewers, facilities, and equipment operate smoothly and safely every day.
In this important role, you will utilize your skills in a variety of tasks including repairs, maintenance, and construction projects spanning from city vehicles to water treatment and wastewater facilities. Your daily work may involve operating trucks, street sweepers, plows, tractors, and other heavy and light equipment, as well as utilizing hand tools and motorized machinery. If you have experience with or interest in maintaining vital city infrastructure, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required for this position, though it is highly preferred and can enhance your career prospects. The City will provide on-the-job training for specific municipal licenses and certifications, especially for facility operations. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with periodic rotating weekends on call. Compensation is highly competitive and dependent on experience and licenses held, with starting wages ranging from $21.00 to $26.00 per hour.
